Grief Counseling

Grief can feel impossible to describe because we don't only feel it emotionally, we also feel it physically and spiritually. Grief can present in so many different ways and there is truly no right or wrong way to grieve and no straight path that grief takes.

Sometimes grief can be described as a heaviness in someone's chest. People have also stated they can't get out of bed all day but then they are up all night and unable to sleep. Grief can also show up as feelings numb or even as irrational anger, even at total strangers. If you have lost a loved one, it may feel like you don't know how to live without them or you just keep waiting for them to walk through the door. You may also feel angry about life moving on for everyone without them.

Grief therapy provides a safe and compassionate space to explore these feelings, honor your unique experience, and process the changes that come with loss. A therapist can help you understand your emotions, navigate complicated or unresolved grief, and develop coping strategies that support healing. Therapy can also assist in managing the practical and relational challenges that often accompany loss, such as adjusting to life without a loved one or redefining your sense of identity and purpose. Through a supportive approach, grief therapy helps you build resilience, find meaning, and gradually reconnect with life while holding space for your sorrow.
